Zachary Taylor:
12th President of the United States
Was a war hero of the Mexican-American war
Pressed the issue of whether Mexico should be open to slavery
Even when Southerners wanted to succeed, he was prepared to keep the Union together
Millard Fillmore:
13 President of the United States
Last President to not be associated with neither Democratic nor Republican parties
Admitted California to the Union

Franklin Pierce:

Faced with the Kansas-Nebraska Act that took away the Missouri Compromise

At the end of the Civil War, he made the very famous speech the Gettysburg Address
On January 1, 1863, he issues the Emancipation Proclamation which freed all the slaves in the South
